No one was injured Friday morning when a man attempted to rob a Hagerstown bank.

The incident happened shortly after 9 a.m., when a masked man entered The Columbia Bank at 1640 Dual Highway and showed a handgun to the clerk, according to a news release from the Hagerstown Police Department.

Officers said the man fled east on foot before he was given any money.

A K-9 unit could not locate the man, who was described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a thin build. His race was unknown.

In addition to the mask, the man was wearing gloves, a hoodie and dark clothing.
