Celebrate Aviation with Hagerstown Regional Airport at Wings and Wheels Expo 2014

Aviation relics await you September 21, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Hagerstown Regional Airport
Hagerstown, Md. (September 13) You’ve never seen a collection like the showcase of historic and modern aircraft and vintage cars, trucks and more at Wings and Wheels Expo 2014, September 21, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., 18434 Showalter Road, Hagerstown.
Take a tour through Washington County’s aviation history. Kids and adults alike can climb aboard 12 Hagerstown-built aircraft including the Fairchild C-82 and C-119 Flying Boxcar. Other aviation artifacts on site include the 1928 Kreider Reisner KR-31 biplane, 1943 Fairchild PT-19 WWII Trainer and Fairchild 24, all built in Hagerstown.
Rides will be offered in various aircraft. Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 36 (EAA) will offer free airplane rides for youth ages 8 to 17 through their Young Eagles Program. EAA members donate their time, aircraft and fuel to support this exciting program that gives many young people their first flight experience.
Food and other concession items will be available for purchase. Admission is free but donations are welcomed. Proceeds will benefit the museum’s ongoing effort to develop a visitor center to house the museum’s historic aviation artifacts, archives and vintage aircraft.
