OPEN AIRPLANE AFTERNOON IS BACK AT HAGERSTOWN REGIONAL AIRPORT

Hagerstown, Md. (April 29, 2015) - Hagerstown Regional Airport (HGR) and the Hagerstown Aviation Museum are pleased to present a behind-the-scenes look at Hagerstown-built aircraft during this year’s first Open Airplane Afternoons beginning Sunday May 3, 1 – 4 p.m. at Hagerstown Regional Airport, 18434 Showalter Road in Hagerstown.

Bring the kids and prepare to climb aboard the Fairchild C-82 and C-119 Flying Boxcar. Or check out the 1928 Kreider Reisner KR-31 biplane, 1943 Fairchild PT-19 WWII Trainer and Fairchild 24, all built in Hagerstown. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.

Event will be held rain or shine and museum merchandise, books, DVDs and hats will be available for purchase. By making a $100 donation, you can even experience the thrill of open cockpit flying, weather permitting. All attendees will receive a free museum magazine and aircraft collection color poster.

  • October 3, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Wings and Wheels Expo 2015

Directions: From Route 11 at the Hagerstown Regional Airport turn onto Basore Drive at Tony's Pizza and follow the signs. From Interstate 81 take Showalter Road Exit 10A. The airport entrance is a quarter-mile on your left.
