For Immediate Release: WiFi Hot Spot established at Hagerstown Regional Airport HAGERSTOWN, Md, June 22, 2004 - Hagerstown Regional Airport management announced today that a Wireless Local-Area Network is now on-line at the Airport's Passenger Terminal, located at 18434 Showalter Road near Hagerstown. Wireless local-area networks permit suitably equipped computers and portable wireless devices to connect to the world-wide-web. Wireless Local-Area Networks are probably better know as WiFi Hot Spots to the technically savvy public. The Passenger Terminal Hot Spot, like the Airport's free parking, is provided as value-added benefit to travelers using Hagerstown Regional Airport. The service is provided at no charge to the Airport's passengers in an effort to help make their time at the Terminal as constructive as possible. Preliminary tests have indicated that there is not a bad seat in the house and that users should be able to log-on from virtually anywhere in the Terminal. Laptops and PDA's have been seen in abundance throughout the building since the service has gone live. The establishment of this system would not have been possible without the assistance of Antietam Cable who agreed to partner with Hagerstown Regional Airport in this endeavor. Connectivity is provided exclusively by Antietam Cable, a leading innovator of lightning-fast modem connections for both home and business in the Hagerstown and Washington County area (www.antietamcable.com). Additional information about Hagerstown Regional Airport is available at www.FlyHagerstown.com. Comments about the Airport's Wireless Local-Area Network can be sent to Greg Larsen at glarsen@washco-md.net or by calling 240-313-2768.
