MEDIA RELEASE
For Immediate Release: Fly-in/drive-in at Hagerstown Regional Airport
On the weekend of July 17th & 18th, 2004, the Hagerstown, MD chapter 36 of the Experimental Aircraft Association and Hagerstown Aircraft Services, Inc. will co- sponsor a fly-in/drive-in event at the Hagerstown Aircraft services facility on Basore Road at the Washington County Regional airport, Richard A. Henson field. This event is designed to bring together members of the aviation community and the general public who are interested in aviation. This will afford an opportunity for people who normally do not have access to aviation to explore this exciting and fascinating world. Children between the ages of 8 and 17 will have the opportunity to experience flight, free of charge, through the generosity of local pilots who participate in the experimental aircraft association's "Young Eagles Program". For those who would like to experience aviation from the pilots seat, demonstration flights will be available from "Eagle Air, Inc." Local sight seeing flights will also be available. Breakfast and lunch will be available on site from EAA chapter 36. If you have ever dreamed of building your own airplane, but thought it was impossible, renew that dream. Stop in at the EAA booth to see examples of homebuilt aircraft and talk to people who have built their own aircraft. Get information on how you can build, buy, or restore your own aircraft from members of chapter 36 Experimental Aircraft Association. In addition to the homebuilt aircraft on display, there will be modern, classic & antique planes and vintage Warbirds of the Confederate Air Force. During this two day event, Tracey Potter, president of "Hagerstown Aircraft Services" will make his facilities available for a look at the way aircraft are repaired, maintained and painted. If you have questions about any part of the general aviation picture, Tracey or his staff can answer them. If you have ever wanted to fly, this is the place to be on Saturday and Sunday July 17th and 18th. Follow highway signs to Hagerstown Regional Airport. From Route 11 turn on to Basore Rd at Tony's Pizza and follow the fly-in signs. Fly-in hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. There is no admission charge for this event.
