Hagerstown Regional Airport welcomes STAT MedEvac On July 20, 2005, the STAT MedEvac air medical program will open a medevac helicopter base in Hagerstown, MD at the Hagerstown Regional Airport. The base will be staffed 24 hours/day, 365 days/year with an EMS Pilot, Flight RN, and Flight Paramedic crew. An American Eurocopter EC-135 helicopter with single-pilot instrument flight rule (IFR) capabilities will be the aircraft in service. The STAT MedEvac crews will be available to respond to all patient transport requests. Please contact our communication center at 1-800-633-7828. Specialty capabilities of the onboard equipment/crew will continue to be: invasive monitoring equipment, automated ventilators, internal cardiac pacing equipment, and critical care pharmacological agents. The STAT MedEvac Program is a service of the Center for Emergency Medicine. It has been in operation since 1984 and now has 16 bases located in three states: Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Since its inception, the program has completed more than 85,000 helicopter transport missions. In addition to the regional rotorcraft bases, STAT MedEvac maintains a fleet of backup helicopters and fixed wing assets to assure immediate response throughout the large service area.
